Far too often trainers blame their audience for not “getting it”. It’s also convenient to blame “upper management” for cutting training first during tough times(accounting, distribution, sales, and yes, even upper management say the say thing happens to their departments during tough times). Wishing for newer or better tools, or support from that “crusty” division manager postpones action on our part. Worse yet, training managers accept these excuses from their trainers and the culture of apathy continues. Training departments become a necessary evil for compliance purposes only. Shame on us for allowing others to marginalize us and diminish our contribution!
